NEW YORK, USA (Reuters) -- Hovensa said Monday unplanned work on a 150,000 barrel-per-day gasoline-making fluid catalytic cracker at its 500,000-bpd St Croix refinery in the Caribbean may end near Nov. 6 barring unexpected developments.
Company spokesman Alex Moorhead did not elaborate on the nature of the repairs or when the work began at the St Croix complex, one of the largest refineries in the Western hemisphere and a key supplier to the US East Coast markets.
"The FCC is down for repairs. Barring any unforeseen developments it is expected that the repairs will be completed around Nov. 6," Moorhead told Reuters, adding that the outage was unplanned.
The St Croix refinery in the US Virgin Islands is a joint venture between Hess Corp and Venezuelan state oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA.
