Arrival and departure

To enter Cuba, German tourists require a passport, which is still valid for six months beyond the date of departure. Children's ID must be provided with a photograph. Additionally, a tourist card that is valid for 30 days must be purchased before departure.

If you plan a longer stay in Cuba, you have to buy a tourist card on-site. You can obtain the tourist card via travel agencies or directly at the Cuban tourist information bureau. When you leave the country, you have to pay a take-off tax at your departure, which is about 1 € per person. The fee has to be paid at the airport. 20 kilogram of luggage is allowed. Personal items such as cameras, video cameras or sporting equipment must be declared at the import and have to be re-exported.

Since 2010, a valid foreign health insurance has to be completed before entering the country.
