CASTRIES, St Lucia: The St Lucia Tourist Board's regional St Lucia Jazz and summer 2007 promotions kick into high gear this weekend, as the Board's marketing and public relations departments set off for select Caribbean destinations. This will include regional radio, print and television marketing that has already begun in the region.

Grenada, Trinidad, Barbados, St Vincent and Dominica are the regional markets that have traditionally lent support to the world renowned jazz event and contribute to arrivals from the Caribbean.

The officers will engage in blanket coverage of travel agents and other industry partners to familiarise them with the 2007 St Lucia Jazz as well as hold initial discussions with the Board for regional summer promotions.

There will also be a series of newspaper, radio and television interviews in each of the islands to create the media hype around St Lucia Jazz and what specials will be available for summer 2007.

Since the announcement of the line-up, which includes more smooth and straight ahead jazz, interest in this year's jazz event has been high throughout the region. Officers of the Board begin traveling from Friday 13 April 2007, with Grenada as their first target.

St Lucia Jazz is slated for May 4 - 13, 2007 and tickets go on sale from this weekend.
