New cell phone coverage in Eastern Cuba

Email To Friend Print Version | HAVANA, Cuba (ACN): Cuba's Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) has announced that it will soon provide cell phone coverage along a road linking several eastern provinces.
To provide mobile converage on the highway linking the provinces of Las Tunas and Granma, also the shortest way to reach Santiago de Cuba and Guantanamo, a radio station is being built in the town of Vado del Yeso, vice director of mobile communications in Granma, Sergio Milan, told ACN.
The radio tower, to begin transmitting in late July, will also provide travellers with 33 new public phone services to be set up in nearby local communities, confirmed Milan.
This year, ETCESA will also set up 93 public phone facilities in far off communities in the province of Granma, said Milan.
