CASTRIES, St Lucia: Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Chief Executive Officer of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), has indicated that after discussions with the Rodney Bay Marina Officials, the marina will be used as a landing spot for cruise ship passengers. Ships carrying cricket fans will be docked at Rodney Bay and in and off the Castries Harbor. The passengers will be ferried on land and will then be shuttled to the Beausejour Cricket Ground.

Cuthbert Didier, General Manager of the Rodney Bay Marina said they have had a walk thru with Hilaire, committee members and other stake-holders. Everyone is satisfied and is looking forward to making the ICC-CWC Semi-Finals a huge success. Didier also said after hosting the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) for 16 years, he is fully aware of the challenges, he does not envisage any major problems and everything will be in place to facilitate the fans.

Under the proposed arrangement, Didier forecasts about 3000 - 4000 will come thru the marina and there will be no strain on their resources since they are accustomed to handling such large numbers. The General Manager also said, to date the marina has the names of five cruise ships that will be docked at Rodney Bay and pontoons have already been identified for the ferries that will take the passengers from ship to shore.

The Beausejour Cricket Grounds in St Lucia will be the venue of the second of two semi-finals and will be held on 25th April 2007. The Sabina Park in Jamaica will host the first semi-finals on 24th April 2007.
