ORLANDO, USA: AirTran Airways has announced that it will begin nonstop flights to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The fast-growing, low-fare carrier will begin flying between its hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and San Juan Luis Munoz Marin International Airport on March 5, 2008.

AirTran Airways will launch daily, nonstop flights between Orlando International Airport and San Juan the same day and add a second daily, nonstop flight on April 9.

"AirTran Airways customers have been asking us to extend our unique brand of low fares and friendly service to Puerto Rico -- and we're responding," said Kevin Healy, AirTran Airways' vice president of planning.

"Puerto Rico is an island paradise with sparkling beaches and unrivaled resorts. Our passengers can use the money they save on airfares to do more scuba diving, deep sea fishing and sailing while they're on vacation."

AirTran Airways will use its most technologically advanced Boeing 737-700s on both routes, the newest planes in America's youngest, all-Boeing fleet.
