Email To Friend Print Version | PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (UPI): US forces out of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, used helicopters and jets to try to capture a former Haitian rebel leader accused of trafficking drugs.
However, Guy Philippe -- who ran for president of Haiti in 2006 -- was not recovered by US Drug Enforcement Agency officials and is said to be hiding, The Miami Herald reported Friday.
The 39-year-old Philippe in February 2004 led an insurrection that prompted former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide to leave Haiti. | | | | Reads : 28 |
