During their first working meeting together, OAS Secretary General José Miguel Insulza and CARICOM Secretary-General Edwin Carrington outlined strategies to intensify bilateral consultations as the basis on which to collaborate, and to do so more frequently—in such areas as human resource training, sustainable development, multidimensional security, trade, natural disasters and other areas of particular interest to Caribbean countries.
Insulza pledged to support preparatory work on the Conference on the Caribbean that is scheduled to be held in Washington, DC, in June. | | | | Reads : 259 | | | |
