SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic: After suffering flooding and heavy rains that have already caused damage and destruction to property and crops this year, another violent storm has hit the Monticristi areas in the north of the Dominican Republic.
The storm, which was described as a tornado, also produced hailstones that severely damaged the banana, plantain and rice crops.
The area was toured by the agricultural minister and the civil defence director for the area, who observed firsthand the damage and assessed the damage and the amount of assistance that will be needed to local farmers and residents who suffered damage to their homes and property. | | | | Reads : 173 | | | |
