Belize Red Cross TWC administrator appointed CARICOM youth ambassador

BELMOPAN, Belize: Belize Red Cross Together We Can (TWC) administrator Tashera Swift has been appointed a CARICOM Youth Ambassador (CYA)).

She was appointed by CARICOM through the recommendation of Youth For the Future.

As a CYA, Swift is tasked to: oversee the development and execution of the national work plan in partnership with Technical Working Groups made up of experienced, dedicated and committed youth.

The recommended composition of the TWG is 8 people, comprising CYAs (current and retired) and representatives of the National Youth Council (NYC)/youth organisations/NGOs; young people living with AIDS; one representative each of the National AIDS Commission/ Council & Department of Youth Affairs; and representatives of agencies which have strategic interest such as UNICEF, UNFPA, Peace Corps and Red Cross in an ex-officio capacity.

The TWG is the national implementing mechanism with the space and platform to coordinate the development, implementation and management of the national work plan.

It is chaired by CYAs and executes planning, organising, mobilising, information/ communication, administrative, mentoring and other functions as elaborated at Section 3.2 “Developing and Managing the implementation of the National Work Plan.
