ST THOMAS, USVI: The US Virgin Islands Department of Tourism has announced a relationship with Yahoo!, one of the Internet’s most recognizable brands, to entice potential visitors through the summer months.
Titled Don’t Burn Out, Lay Out, the promotion is designed to increase travel to the territory by showcasing the US Virgin Islands as the perfect destination to escape workplace stress and recharge during precious vacation days.
Through the promotion from May 21 – July 9, the Department of Tourism is offering special rates at the participating hotels – Divi Carina Bay Beach Resort on St. Croix, Caneel Bay on St John and Frenchman’s Reef and Morningstar Marriott Beach Resort on St Thomas.
Visitors to the HotJobs site can also enter to win an 11-night/12-day spa package vacation for two to the US Virgin Islands including airfare, hotel accommodations, meals, spa treatments and activities on all three islands.
“We are delighted to team up with Internet heavyweight Yahoo! for this exclusive Don’t Burn Out, Lay Out promotion,” says Beverly Nicholson Doty, Commissioner of Tourism. “The promotion will remind visitors that the US Virgin Islands are an easily accessible, perfect getaway destination. And we predict this campaign will have a significant positive impact on arrivals to America’s Caribbean during the spring and summer months.” |
