Singapore's Deputy PM promotes trade in Cuba visit

Email To Friend Print Version | HAVANA, Cuba (AFP): Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Shanmugam Jayakumar launched a three-day visit to Cuba on Thursday focusing on trade in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, the official Cuban news agency reported.

During his stay Jayakumar planned to look at "possibilities for developing economic ties, particularly collobaration in the field of biotechnology and pharmeceuticals," the AIN news agency said.
Jayakumar was due to meet Vice President Carlos Lage, Labor Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Foreign Trade Minister Raul de la Nuez and other top officials, it said.
Jayakumar was scheduled to proceed to Panama after leaving Cuba. |
