STOKE CITY, London: Reggae Boyz strikers Marlon King and Ricardo Fuller both found the back of the net during an exciting 1-1 draw between promoted side Hull City and Stoke in the Barclay Premiership on a foggy Saturday afternoon in England.
Looking to seal valuable points to keep their distance away from the drop zone, both teams, who have played to 1-1 draws in the last three previous clashes, started the game searching for an early goal to gain the upper hand.

However, it took the final seconds into time added on to get the first goal, but it was a well taken one by King, who drilled home a scorcher from inside the area.
An in-swinging cross by Sam Ricketts from the left side off a free kick was nodded down by Michael Turner who saw his effort deflected into the path of King. The striker reacted well to slam home a beautiful curler and silence the home fans just on the stroke of half-time.
The second half saw Stoke coming out looking the more attacking team and Leon Cort almost equallised two minutes after the break. Rory Delap’s long throw found the head of the big defender who brought out a brilliant save from Boaz Myhill.
Stoke and Fuller continued to search and he and home fans were sweetly rewarded when Myhill brought down the Jamaican in the penalty area, which allowed him the convert from the spot.
Fuller stepped up confidently to squeeze his spot kick past Myhill, who guessed correctly, but reacted slowly. The goal was Fuller’s sixth of the season.
''When you go a goal down in the Premier League it is very difficult to come back,'' said Stoke manager Pulis.
''I was pleased with the character of the lads in the second half, their effort and commitment was first class. In the final third at times we need that little bit more to open teams up.
''But it is a good point, we are building, the transfer window opens in four weeks' time and we will be trying to do some business,'' he added.
Despite winning a point -- his team’s 15th of their 23 points on the road -- Hull’s manager Phil Brown believes his side was robbed of another Premier League away win.
''We've been robbed by a poor decision, in my opinion,'' said Brown, whose side were on course for a fifth away win.
''It wasn't a spectacle by any stretch of the imagination. But we came in 1-0 up - I said the first goal in today's game would be important and it should have been enough to win it - but we were a little bit undone by a dubious decision.
''It was a very theatrical dive. You have to be 100 percent right when you make decisions like that and I don't think you can be in that situation.'' | | | | Reads : 545 | | | |
