ROSEAU, Dominica: Prime Minister of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit announced a cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday evening. The change in the Prime Minister’s cabinet includes the removal of the Minister for Public Works and Infrastructural Development Ambrose George from his cabinet post.

Although no mention was made of the reason for his decision, the Dominican leader expressed his gratitude to George for his services to the country. Calls have been made recently for George’s resignation following allegations of his involvement in various internet scams.

Meantime, incumbent Minister of National Security, Immigration and Labour, Rayburn Blackmoore will hold the position of Minister of Public Works, while the Ministry of National Security will fall under the Prime Minister’s portfolio.

Senator Sonia Williams was also appointed as the new Minister of Education, Human Resource Development, Sports and Youth Affairs, a position previously held by Vince Henderson who will now hold the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Labour.

The Prime Minister also announced that he intends to make more changes in the coming year.
