Three die in plane crash in Guyana

GEORGETOWN, Guyana: Three persons have been confirmed dead as a small BN 2A Islander twin-engine aircraft crashed minutes after take off in the southwestern region of Guyana.
A 36-year-old woman, Bettina Perreira, and her six-year-old son were among five people aboard the Air Services Limited Islander that crashed in the Kopinang Mountain during bad weather on Wednesday. They were the only survivors.
According to information reaching Caribbean Net News, control tower officials lost contact with the aircraft at around 14:30 hours, shortly after it left the Amerindian community of Cato.
At the time of the disappearance, the aircraft, which is registered to Air Services Limited and was being flown by a Captain Rohan Sharma, was transporting at least five persons.
