Email To Friend Print Version | LONDON, England (Reuters): The British government will allow Internet gambling sites in Antigua and Barbuda to advertise in the UK after the Caribbean country strengthened its regulation of the industry.
Antiguan Minister of Finance and the Economy L. Errol Cort said in a statement on Monday: "We look forward to the expansion opportunities that this provides for our current licensees and to welcoming other ... remote gambling brands to (our) jurisdiction."
The sites will be allowed to advertise in the UK from November 20, the government said.
Companies with licences in Antigua and Barbuda include Helix Gaming International, which owns the BingoMania website, and EHG, owner of the English Harbour site.
Two of the leading companies in online gambling, 888 Holdings and PartyGaming, have operations based in Gibraltar in the EEA. | | | | Reads : 594 |
