PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad: The Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute (TTTI) has elected Victor Hart as the new Chairman of its new Board of Directors.

On assuming office, Hart affirms that "TTTI will continue to monitor events in both the public and private sectors, to encourage good governance through the promotion of transparency and accountability. Through an expanded public awareness programme, he says they will be taking their message to a wider audience."
The other directors elected at TTTI"s recent Annual General Meeting were Brian Lewis (Vice-Chairman), Boyd Reid (Secretary), Wendy Kerry (Treasurer), Diana Clyne, Margaret Rose and Bishnu Ragoonath. Out going chairman is Reginald Dumas, who has retired from the Board.
Victor Hart is a graduate of UK universities, first as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and later with an MSc degree in Project Management.
Hart was also one of the commissioners who conducted the Enquiry into the multi-million dollar corruption scandal of the Piarco Airport Development Project. From this, many corruption charges were laid against several former government ministers and two local businessmen.
Hart is a retired construction industry professional, having served that industry for over thirty years.
He has held leadership positions in the local Quantity Surveyors Society, the Commonwealth Association of Surveying and Land Economy, the South Trinidad Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Rotary Club of Port of Spain.
He has represented this country at conferences in the Caribbean, Central and South America, Africa, India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand. |
