TORTOLA, BVI: The British Virgin Islands is hosting yet another regional conference, this time on its Water Management Programme, and representatives from 13 countries will attend the meeting to be held on Friday and Saturday in Tortola, BVI.
The theme of the conference is "Executing the Mandate and Achieving Organization Efficiency" and it is being sponsored by the BVI Water and Sewerage Department in collaboration with the Caribbean Basin Water Management Programme (CBWMP).
The conference, which is the 12th annual meeting, will be opened by the Territory’s Minister of Communications and Works, Julian Fraser, who will speak on Government's Initiatives in Water Sector, while the Director of the Department of Sustainable Development in Washington USA, Cletus Springer will deliver the feature address.
CBWMP provides member utilities with opportunities to be at the cutting edge of the management of water and wastewater organizations by establishing linkages with regional and international institutions and to obtain quality training at an affordable cost. The regional grouping also provides an environment that facilitates member utilities' pursuit of quality operations.
The mission of the CBWMP is to provide for the sustainable growth and development of water utilities and the promotion of water and water-related issues through the delivery of quality training and utilizing collective resources and experiences. | | | | Reads : 633 | | | |
