GEORGETOWN, Guyana (GINA): Cuba’s Ambassador to Guyana Franscisco Marchante Castellanos on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on President Bharrat Jagdeo at the Office of the President. The courtesy call was to bid farewell to the Head of State at the end of his three-year assignment in Guyana.

After meeting with Jagdeo, Ambassador Castellanos in an invited comment said that his three years in Guyana were fruitful and among the memorable events were the visit of Guyana’s President to Cuba and the signing of several agreements.

The Ambassador said that during his period of service he contributed to the fostering of greater collaboration between the two countries. The evidence, of which he said, was the completion of the four new diagnostic centres and the presence in Guyana of more doctors than at any other time.

Castellanos was accredited as Cuba’s Ambassador to Guyana in September 2006.
