WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao -- Effective November 19, 2009, American Airlines will fly twice daily to the island of Curaçao, often referred to as the Caribbean’s Hidden Treasure. The additional non-stop service from Miami International (MIA) not only offers travelers more flexibility in their vacation planning, but comes just in time for travelers to save $200 per person on airfare through the Curaçao Now promotion.

“Even in tough economic times Americans are not willing to give up their vacations and the additional flight coupled with our Curaçao Now promotion makes it even easier and more cost effective to discover Curaçao,” Evita Nita, executive director, Curaçao Tourism Board said.

In addition to the twice daily service on American, Continental offers weekly service from Newark (EWR), Delta Air Lines offers weekly service from Atlanta (ATL) and Air Jamaica offers connections three times weekly via Montego Bay from Baltimore/Washington (BWI) and Philadelphia International (PHL) and twice weekly via Chicago O’Hare (ORD). Curaçao-based Insel Air also offers daily direct flights from Miami International.

No matter what carrier travelers choose, the popular Curaçao Now promotion offers a $200-per-person airfare rebate, as well as the following value-added savings: $200 food and beverage credit, free night at participating hotels, free dive day, free car rental day, discounted admission to Curaçao’s many museums, half-price attractions, tours and transfers, and shopping discounts in downtown Willemstad.

Curaçao Now is available for those traveling from August 15 to December 15, 2009.
