NEW YORK, USA: Martinique has become more accessible to US travelers thanks to newly expanded service from American Eagle Airlines. Beginning May 1, 2009, American Eagle will offer daily service between its hub in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Fort-de-France, the capital of Martinique. The new daily service replaces previous American Eagle service, which operated four times weekly.
Muriel Wiltord, director of the Americas for the Martinique Promotion Bureau/CMT USA, commented on the expanded service, saying: “This is a wonderful boost for tourism in Martinique following the just concluded general strike among our local unions. The strike may have had a minimal impact on tourism, but we intend to put forth a maximum effort to ensure a successful year for our travel industry partners and visitors to the island. This is a great start to that maximum effort, and I hope to have more good news to share soon.”
The new American Eagle service to Martinique will operate daily as follows:
From San Juan to Fort-de-France Flight # 5020 – Departure 7:15 p.m.; Arrival 9:06 p.m.
From Fort-de-France to San Juan Flight # 5021 – Departure 7:24 a.m.; Arrival 9:25 a.m. | | | | Reads : 1853 | | | |
