According to the Department of Commerce, this funding is to be leveraged with $5 million in private investment and expected to create 60 jobs. The EDA investment enables the University to meet the specifications for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for a state-of-the-art research park.
With this project, the park hopes to provide island companies and tenants with e-commerce resources through the Global Crossings network. This project is expected to create business and job growth in sectors beyond tourism.
Funding for this project is provided by the EDA’s Global Climate Change Mitigation Incentive Fund, which intends to foster a green economy by promoting economic competitiveness while enhancing environmental quality.
EDA serves as a venture capital resource to meet the economic development needs of distressed communities throughout the United States. EDA’s mission is to lead the federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competitiveness, preparing American regions for growth and success in the worldwide economy. | | | | Reads : 944 | | | |
