Artistide supporters decry UN forces
02-10-2007

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (UPI): Backers of former Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide protested outside the UN peacekeeping mission calling for his return.

Protesters yelled "down with the (United Nations)" and accused troops of killing civilians, the Miami Herald reported.

UN forces arrived in Haiti in spring 2004 following Aristide's departure amid an armed uprising by rebels calling for his resignation.
