Top UK supermarket executives to visit St Lucia

CASTRIES, St Lucia: A team of top executives from Sainsbury's, which is the third largest supermarket chain in the United Kingdom and the biggest customer of Windward Bananas, will be paying a two-day visit to Saint Lucia on February 12 and 13.

The team will include the Chief Executive Officer of Sainsbury's, Justin King, and Executive Director of the National Fair Trade Foundation in the United Kingdom.

Communications Manager of Windward Island Banana Exporting Company (WIBDECO) St Lucia, Freemont Lawrence, has indicated that the meeting will be of a high level category.

The delegation will be visiting banana farms and projects that have been financed by the St Lucia National Fair Trade Organization. On February 13, King will formally open a $95,000 Resource Center in Ti-rocher, Micoud School. The Center will comprise television sets, computers and other communications equipment.
