Fit-again Yuvraj back for third West Indies game
01-27-2007

CHENNAI, India (Reuters): Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh, who has been sidelined due to injury since November, will make a comeback in the third one-dayer against West Indies on Saturday.

The 25-year-old has not played for India since he tore knee ligaments during the ICC Champions Trophy held in India.

"Yuvraj is fully fit medically, now he has to get match fitness," Captain Rahul Dravid told reporters on Friday.

"It is important for him to feel confident that he is up to it. He is a very important player in our scheme of things (for the World Cup)."

West Indies, 2-0 down in the four-game series, were hopeful of skipper Brian Lara's return, after missing Wednesday's second match due to knee trouble.

"I can confirm myself in the 12, but cannot say anything more for now," Lara told reporters. "As of now I am not 100 per cent sure."

India reshuffled their side by recalling leg spinner Anil Kumble and including batsman Suresh Raina and medium-pacer Santhakumaran Sreesanth for the day/night match.

Saurav Ganguly, wicketkeeper Mahendra Dhoni, new ball bowler Zaheer Khan and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh have been rested.
