Jaggernauth stars in Trinidad's win over the Windwards

COUVA, Trinidad: A superb five-wicket haul from Amit Jaggernauth led Trinidad and Tobago to an easy 185-run win over the Leeward Islands on the fourth and final day of the third round of the Carib Beer Series at Couva on Tuesday.
The off-spinner captured five for 48 to help bowl out the Leewards for a total of 187, this after the visitors started the day on a bedtime score of 118-4. The victory target was a hefty 403.
Richard Kelly, two for 44 and Dave Mohammed, two for 50 also helped the hosts grab their first win of the tournament.
Omari Banks top scored for the Leewards with 37, while Tonito Willett made 36.
In other matches in the second round, Jamaica also wrapped up a comfortable win over Guyana, and Barbados defeat the Windward Islands.
Man-of-the-Match Jermaine Lawson turned in an inspiring bowling performance to lead Jamaica to a seven wicket victory at Kensington Park. Like Trinidad, Jamaica were also winning their first match of the series.
Lawson, a discarded West Indies fast bowler, picked up seven wickets for 85 runs as Jamaica bowled out the traveling side for 232, an hour and 45 minutes into the first session on the final day.
Another pace bowler, Andrew Richardson, who picked up the final two wickets on the day, after Guyana added just 15 to their overnight 217-8, was the next best Jamaican with two for 46.
When Jamaica batted a second time, pacer Esaun Crandon took three for 34 before captain Wavel Hinds (18) and first innings centurion Tamar Lambert (13 not out ) steadied the early shake-up for the victors.
Opener Seonarine Chattergoone was the top scorer in the second innings for Guyana, with 51.
In the other game, Barbados secured a 140-run victory over the Windward Islands at Benjamin's Park.
Spinner Ryan Austin was the most impressive of the Barbadian bowlers, taking 4 for 26 in 12 overs to engineer in a major batting collapse.
Liam Sebastian, who retired hurt in the first innings, offered the most resistance with 32 in the second, while his teammates virtually gave their wickets away.
The impressive Barbados pace attack of Corey Collymore, Tino Best and man-of-the-match, Pedro Collins shared the first three wickets, before the spinners came on. A helpless Windward Islands, who currently sit at the bottom of the table with seven points, paid the price for some rash strokes and were bowled out for a meager 91, this after making only 122 in the first innings.
So after three rounds, Barbados are out front with 30-points, nine points more than second place Jamaica, who are on 21.
