The Shark, Greg Norman, spent the day Tuesday inspecting his soon-to-be championship course at The Westin Le Paradis Beach & Golf Resort in Praslin Bay, St Lucia, which is halfway through its construction and on schedule to open in early 2008. While surveying his latest masterpiece, Norman changed course and set a new vision for his signature hole, ‘The Shark’s Bight,’ a play off his moniker and the breathtaking jagged end of the Praslin Bay peninsula.

“It is so gratifying to see my design come to fruition,” says Norman. “Now that the holes have been shaped you can really get a feel of how the course is going to look and play. It’s truly magnificent, with the lush rainforest on one side and jagged cliffs on the other. Each hole has a view better than the next.”

Perched on virgin rocky cliffs and set amidst flourishing tropical foliage, Norman’s Le Paradis course offers cliff-side tee boxes and oceanfront greens. The course will be managed by Internationally renowned Troon Golf.

Le Paradis combines the best of both worlds for golf aficionados. Spectacular golf with the perks of a Caribbean lifestyle. Nestled on 554-acres, Le Paradis is an ultra-exclusive multi-phased luxury residential resort community managed by Starwood-Westin Hotels & Resorts. The resort will feature a Westin Heavenly® Spa, Westin Workout® facilities, a 100-slip marina, a yacht club, gourmet restaurants, upscale boutique shopping and conference facilities once all phases of construction are completed.

With Greg Norman’s acclaimed course framing the resort, the tropical paradise will be the premier address on St Lucia and one of the most luxurious in the Caribbean.
