BVI Appeal Court reserves judgment in murder case

ROAD TOWN, BVI: The Appeal Court now sitting in the British Virgin Islands has reserved its judgment on a ruling made by the High Court concerning three persons who were sentenced to life imprisonment for a murder committed here in 2004.

Lorne Parsons, Clinton Hamm and Selena Varlack were found guilty for the murder of former Civil Aviation Department fireman, Tristan Todman Industrious.

The three were sentenced to life imprisonment last year without parole, but their lawyers have appealed against the judgment handed down by the High Court.

Lawyers representing the three argued their cases to the appeal judges on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

At the end of the hearing, the four appeal Judges -- Justices Brian Alleyne, Denyf Barrow, Hugh Rawlins and Michael Gordon -- reserved their judgment in the case. No time was given as to when it will be handed down.

Industrious, 26, was found dead in his parked vehicle on August 30, 2004 in the area of Nottingham Estate.
