12-29-2006

ROAD TOWN, BVI: Media group Andrews Media Corporation (AMC) has launched a free news and information online guide for the upcoming British Virgin Islands (BVI) General Elections.

AMC President and Chief
Executive Officer
Merrick Andrews

AMC President and Chief Executive Officer Merrick Andrews in announcing the initiative said that it will help to promote the democratic process in the BVI general elections which are constitutionally due by September 2007.

“This move solidifies the company’s commitment to bring the must have news and information to the BVI public,” Andrews said.

BVI Elections Online will carry candidate profiles, commentary, and news on launches and speeches. It will also be complimented with information on the BVI’s political and electoral history, candidate profiles, election laws, commentary, polls, statistics, photos and view points from the general public, among other features.

The company is also preparing to carry live coverage of the elections on its sister site, BVI News Online, www.bvinews.com, which was launched recently.

“We strongly encourage members of the community to visit our website on a day to day basis to get pertinent information on the issues governing the upcoming elections so as to guide them to the right path,” Andrews said.

"It's also an opportunity to get a profile of your favourite candidate. Stories will start to appear more frequently over the coming months," he added.
