Breese withdraws from Jamaica's cricket team

KINGSTON, Jamaica: The Wavel Hinds-led Jamaican cricket squad will be without the services of former captain Gareth Breese, who wrote the chairman of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA), informing him of his unavailability.
The Jamaicans completed their final trial match on Thursday to pick the team for the regional upcoming Carib Beer four-day series as well as the KFC Limited Overs Cup next month.
According reports reaching Caribbean Net News from Jamaica, the reasons for his withdrawal is yet to be known.
The 30-year-old, who extended his career with English county side Durham, has been one of Jamaica's most experienced and devoted players throughout the years. The off spinner, who has taken 268 first class wickets at an average of 29.47, also made three centuries and 25 half-centuries at an average of 26.27.
Breese took two wickets for 135 runs representing the West Indies in his only Test, this against India at Chennai in October, 2002.
Meanwhile, Jamaica will welcome the services of West Indies players Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels, Jermaine Lawson, Jerome Taylor and Daren Powell, who were all named in the squad released on Thursday.
Also included in the squad are West Indies wicketkeeper/batsman Carlton Baugh Jr, Brenton Parchment, Lorenzo Ingram and Tamar Lambert.
