KINGSTON, Jamaica: Three Jamaican players were scheduled to depart the island en route to the United Kingdom Friday night, where they are slated for trials with English Premier League side Sheffield United.
The three players, Demar Stewart, Jason Morrrison and Rafe Wolfe, are from National Premier League side, Portmore United, and they are expected in Sheffield for a one week trial
Should the trio be successful in their trial, they will join another Reggae Boy and former Portmore United player, defender Claude Davis, who joined the club this season after making a transfer from Preston North End.
Defender Stewart and midfielder Morrison are currently national players, while midfielder Wolfe represented the island at the youth level.
The trio is expected back in the Caribbean on Christmas Eve.
Sheffield United currently sits at 16th place in the Premiership. The league is made up of 20 teams with the bottom three being relegated to the Championships League.
Davis and his United teammates, will travel on Saturday to face Wigan Athletic, who are eyeing three points, which would push them into the top half of the table.
Another Jamaican trying out overseas is Boys' Town's defensive midfield player, Oneil Thompson, who is currently on trial with clubs in Iceland and Norway.
Thompson is expected to return in mid-January.
