USVI introduces 'No Passport Required' promotion
12-01-2006

ST CROIX, USVI: Many visitors are confused about where to vacation this winter. What better destination to consider than the US Virgin Islands where US citizens don't need a passport to visit.  To make the decision even easier, the USVI Hotel & Tourism Association is offering a "No Passport Required" promotion with savings all the way into 2007.

The promotion offers visitors a minimum of a 20% discount for 2007 on room rates at participating hotels.  To take advantage of this special package, it must be booked, for a minimum of 5 nights, through a favorite travel agent or on line travel professional December 1-31, 2006.

The hotels included in this promotion are: on St Croix, Hotel Caravelle and Divi Carina Bay Resort; on St. John, the Westin Resort; and on St. Thomas, Best Western Carib Beach, Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, Frenchman's Reef Marriott Resort, Holiday Inn, and Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa. Rules and restrictions may apply.

"Retailers have Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This is the destination's ultimate sale for the holiday but it happens to last for an entire year," said President of the Hotel & Tourism Association Beverly Nicholson Doty.

Once on island, visitors will enjoy first class restaurants, picturesque white sand beaches, adventures on land and sea, historic towns, cultural activities, and a $1,600 duty free shopping allowance to purchase that special item they have been yearning for.

To book the "No Passport Required" promotion, visitors should contact their favorite travel agent or on line travel professional.
