ABI Bank wins ECCB Best Corporate Citizens Award

BASSETERRE, St Kitts: The ABI Bank Ltd of Antigua is the 2006 recipient of the ECCB award for the Best Corporate Citizen among Commercial Banks in the ECCU area. Joseph Williams, Branch Manager of ABI Bank accepted the award at a ceremony held at the ECCB Headquarters on 13 November 2006, following the presentation of the 11th Sir Arthur Lewis Memorial Lecture.
ABI Bank also received Good Corporate Citizen awards for its contributions to Educational Development, Community Outreach and Social Services.
Other winners were the National Bank of Anguilla Ltd which secured Good Corporate Citizen Awards for Environmental Awareness, Sports Development and Financial Literacy and Awareness, while Republic Bank (Grenada) Ltd was recognised for outstanding contributions to Cultural Development and Customer Service.
Fourteen banks from across the currency union participated in the competition designed to recognise those banks which, while conducting their day to day business, take time to reach out to the members of the communities in which they operate, and from where they draw their strength.
