Elton John and Al Green to headline Tobago Jazz Festival
11-17-2006
SCARBOROUGH, Tobago: Musical icon Sir Elton John, recording legend Al Green, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Gladys Knight, and Grammy winner LL Cool J are scheduled to perform at the 3rd Annual Plymouth Jazz Festival in Tobago.
From Friday, April 27 through Sunday, April 29, 2007, Tobago invites visitors to catch the island fever with a weekend packed full of unforgettable performances set against the backdrop of what may well be the last undiscovered gem destination in the Caribbean.
The line-up, scheduled to include six more top international performers and other notable Caribbean artists, was recently announced at a media launch for the festival in Tobago where organizers promised a bigger and better show than previous years. The venue, the Fort James/Plymouth Recreational Field, is an open-air seating area that will feature large screens to ensure a great view from any location.
With new non-stop Delta service starting February 17, 2007 into Tobago, visitors from North America will have no problems getting to the island for the festival.
Tobago, located in the southeastern region of the Caribbean, provides an ideal location for weddings & honeymoons, eco-adventure, scuba diving, and golf as well as unadulterated fun in the sun. With their careful approach to tourism, Tobago offers one of the last absolutely unspoiled Caribbean destinations. Sister island to Trinidad, Tobago is the quintessential Caribbean island with secluded beaches, quaint villages, and charming hotels.
