Big names in cricket visit Grenada

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada: English and West Indies cricket legends will gather in Grenada on Sunday at Progress Park.
The two teams will participate in the Virgin Atlantic Cricket Classic. The event, which is in its third year, will feature some of the biggest names in the cricket world.
The event will also feature a 20/20 competition where some of Grenada’s young players such Devon Smith will be featured, adding some more attraction to the event.
According to the organisers this friendly game is geared not only at creating entertainment for cricket lovers, but at the same time it will feature heavily the importance of sports tourism in Grenada and the wider Caribbean.
Progress Park is one of the two practice venues to be utilised for the ICC Cricket World Cup next year and this Sunday’s game is being held there specifically to test the facility for the big encounter.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Sports, Tourism, and the Government of Grenada.
