Stay cheap and fly for free to Montserrat

Friday, October 6, 2006

BRADES, Montserrat: Travelers heading to Montserrat, and those vacationing in Antigua who want to extend their trip, can fly for free when a seven-night stay is booked at one of Montserrat’s two hotels.

From now until October 31, guests that book a seven-night vacation at the Tropical Mansion Suites or Vue Pointe Hotel will enjoy complimentary roundtrip airfare to Montserrat on Winair from Antigua.  This is based on single occupancy and there is a supplemental charge of $115 for each additional person traveling. The “fly for free” package also includes airport transfers and daily continental breakfast.

Room rates start as low as US $107 per night, including taxes, at the Tropical Mansion Suites. Situated within easy reach of the airport and Little Bay beach, the Tropical Mansions Suites feature truly spectacular views of the mountains and sea.  All guestrooms feature ensuite bathrooms and balconies.  The hotel’s Breezes Restaurant features exquisite international cuisine, a lounge and bar.  For more information or for reservations, please e-mail tropicalmansion@galloway.ms or visit www.tropicalmansion.com

Cottage rates start as low as $120 per night, including taxes, at the Vue Pointe Hotel.  Located on a gentle hillside with spectacular views of the Soufriere Hills Volcano, the Vue Pointe Hotel features 22 individual cottages, restaurant and bar.  For more information or for reservations, please e-mail vuepointe@candw.ms or visit www.vuepoint.com

Special rates for island activities such as island/volcano tours, snorkeling, diving and hiking are available at an additional cost.  Airport departure tax not included.

Montserrat, a lush green and mountainous island of approximately 39 square miles, lies in the Eastern Caribbean chain of islands. Known fondly as the “Emerald Isle” of the Caribbean, this pear-shaped island is a traveler’s paradise for nature lovers, divers, adventurers, family and villa vacationers, and honeymooners.

This British overseas territory boasts the spectacular Soufrière Hills Volcano, a modern day Pompeii in the form of its buried former capital city Plymouth, alongside lush, green mountains, world-class nature trails, deserted dark sand beaches, untouched reefs and a quiet friendly charm reminiscent of the way the Caribbean used to be.
