Anguilla auction site offers vacations for the new season
10-06-2006

THE VALLEY, Anguilla: To celebrate its 25th birthday the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association (AHTA) has a new lineup of packages appearing on its Anguilla Auctions website, www.anguillaauctions.com.

The website gives Anguilla lovers a chance to bid on packages at their favorite Anguilla resorts and villas for a fraction of their published rate.  The packages often include complimentary meals, spa treatments and other goodies and have proved to be incredibly popular since the site launched in 2003.

This season there are some great new accommodation opportunities for visitors to Anguilla - with new properties opening up as well as some favorite accommodations.

In October the site will offer a 3 day package for two including continental breakfast at the newly refurbished small hotel Sirena. This hotel on Meads Bay is currently being refurbished in a more contemporary boutique style. The rack rate for this package is over $500, but bidding will start at $200. This package would be perfect for those wanting a stress free weekend or a quick refresher/introduction to the beautiful island. www.sirenaresort.com.

And also in October a 5-night stay in the Eden House Villa in Little Harbour. Overlooking St Martin and neighboring islands, the villa is surrounded by tropical gardens. The accommodation comprises a 3 bedroom main house and 1 bedroom pool house suite and can sleep up to 8 people. Eden House is an art-lovers paradise featuring original artwork by the owner's son Daryl Thompson, an award winning young artist. The rack rate for Eden House is approximately $5,000 and bidding will start at $2,500. If you want a peaceful home away from home - this is the lot for you… www.edenhousevilla.com

In November the site will introduce a seven-day package for two at KU in Shoal Bay. Opened last year, this boutique hotel on the island’s most popular beach proved to be an international hit. This KU package is advertised at $2,000; bidding will begin at $500. If you want the coolness of South Beach combined with the romance and tranquility of Shoal Bay East - this is the lot for you. www.kuanguilla.com

All auction winners this season will also win a copy of "Angelfish with Corals" a signed Lithograph by Artist JoAnne Hook, donated by Melody and John Dill owners of the beautiful Bird of Paradise Villa in Anguilla, which features many original works of art as part of its unique charm.

“We are so grateful to our members for their ongoing support of the site which is both a great marketing tool and raises much needed funds for the Association and its work in tourism and tourism education,” stated Trudy Nixon, Executive Director of the Anquilla Hotel and Tourism Association.  “Anguilla Auctions is a very friendly and personalized website and most of our bidders are ‘regulars’ who know and love Anguilla and bid often - we build a relationship with them. Each Auction runs for 2 weeks and we only ever auction one lot at a time. I answer every bid personally - so be aware that it’s not a computer that is dealing with you!”

Those interested in being notified of these lots as they come live, email the AHTA at ahta@anguillanet.com with your email address and you will automatically be added to their list of Anguilla Auction Bidders.

The Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association (AHTA) is the largest and oldest trade association on Anguilla. Representing more than 125 local and regional businesses from both the hotel and allied sectors, the AHTA has been Anguilla’s leading tourism industry advocate for 25 years.
