At this present time, life in Haiti is so miserable that one has to adopt not only " a restavec" but also his and her children as well as the children of their children. The housing crisis in the cities, the lack of employment, the indifference of the State and the irrelevance of the multiple ONG make the situation untenable for all.

I would suggest that you go back to the drawing board and study the issue of why such a gallant Haiti that dismantled two hundred years ago the world order of slavery reverted back, seven years after that epic battle, into this de facto apartheid situation.

The true story of Haiti is the contradiction in the marginalisation of the many, is more visible there, the same vista is present in Brazil, Mexico, India, Bolivia etc. The solution is how we can spark the leadership of Rosa Parks in all these outposts to create countries that see themselves a la Renan: a nation with a shared vision for and through all.
