Government should seriously consider this new fuel
Thursday, August 31, 2006
In response to the David Coard article "Grenada does not need a new spice product", I am in total agreement with Mr Coard's comments. We can see the impact on the price of oil of recent events in the Middle East, Nigeria and other oil producing countries. They determine how much we pay at the pumps. The impact is especially felt in smaller developing countries such as Grenada. Alternative fuel from sugar cane such as ethanol not only is the way foward but will also cut pollution and create well deserved jobs for our people. The government should seriously consider this new fuel, as it can become a major source of income for our economy and so become less dependent upon tourism. Edison Samuel
