Blair's eldest son discharged from Barbados hospital

LONDON, England (AFP): Euan Blair, eldest son of British Prime Minister Tony Blair, has been discharged from a hospital in Barbados, the prime minister's office said Friday.

"We can confirm that he has been discharged," a spokeswoman at 10 Downing Street said without saying what he had been treated for or when he had been admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital near Bridgetown.

Sky News television reported earlier that the 22-year-old university student -- one of four children in the Blair household -- had suffered "abdominal pains" while the family was winding up their vacation in the Caribbean.

The prime minister himself flew back to London early Friday refreshed by his seaside vacation at a villa belonging to the veteran British pop singer Sir Cliff Richard.
