LETTER TO THE EDITORGrenada does not need a new Spice productSaturday, August 26, 2006Dear Sir:
Grenada does not need a new Spice product, Grenada needs to concentrate on alternative fuel sources i.e, ethanol-sugar cane production, as in Brazil. It's funny how after tremendous strides made during the revolution how the Grenadian mind set has fallen back into the consumer rather than the producer mode. Consumption dictates two dynamics; production or dependence. I think the Grenadian masses know which way the wind is blowing! Sugar is the "new old spice", stop looking for miracles use what you have to get and be what you want! When we say Grenada is looking for alternative spices, the question must be asked, For who? And for what? What will we do with the revenues generated? Buy gasoline, buy kerosene? Or invest in the production of ethanol? We are blessed with an abundance of natural resources and the brains to make it happen! Sugar is the key! It built the most powerful capitalist market in the world, New York City. It can make life real sweet in Grenada. David Coard Most popular articles: viewed, printed and e-mailed
