Condoleezza Rice's article contains mistakes, if not lies

Saturday, August 19, 2006

Dear Sir:

I must respond to Condoleezza Rice's commentary because it contains several mistakes, if not lies. The lying begins when it states that the US has worked for a month to end the violence.

In the first weeks the US permitted Israel to continue bombing the civilian population of Lebanon and then they urgently shipped more bunker busting and cluster bombs to Israel.  It was only in the last week, under intense international pressure, that a call for a cease fire was issued.

What makes you think that UN resolution 1701 will be honored by Hezbollah, as Israel has ignored over 50 UN resolutions?  Your double standards are pathetic to express it mildly.

Israel has already defied the first component of 1701 by killing 5 "gunmen" the second day of the resolution! What you call the two "abducted" Israeli soldiers were captured on Lebanese soil, in a military operation. It was a legal action of a sovereign nation. Why don’t you address the issue of the 1,000+ Lebanese prisoners being held by Israel?

If an embargo is being imposed on all weapons heading into Lebanon in order to maintain balance, shouldn’t there also be  an embargo on all weapons heading into Israel? But, poor Condoleezza, I know you cannot say that; your masters want to dominate the area, and you must say what they instruct you to.

Since the creation of Israel, the displaced people who lived there, will not give up their legal (by war conventions) right to take back their country, and unless you create a country for them all your policies will fail. To condemn Syria and Iran for standing by these people is your biggest moral mistake and brings more and more power to Hezbollah.

What you call the "entire" world working for peace is a blatant lie as you exclude the Arab world, as if they do not exist, because that is not under your control. It is time you wake up and admit there are more people than only Northern military powers in the "entire" world… When you speak of Lebanon as “full independence, complete sovereignty, effective democracy and a weakened Hezbollah with fewer opportunities to rearm and regroup" what you really mean to say is: A Lebanon under the control of the USA and Israel.

You seem to be unable to say things right: "no one should expect an immediate stop to all acts of violence. Our diplomacy has helped end a war." You should honestly say: The hardiness of Hezbollah has forced us to end this war.

"The reconstruction effort will be led by the government of Lebanon, but it will demand the generosity of the entire world." Again that preposterous idea that the rest of the "entire" world has to rebuild what US weapons, in the hands of your proxy, have destroyed! You offer $50 million for $3.2 billion damage, what a generous offer!

The plan to attack Lebanon was many months in the making and to believe that two captured soldiers triggered this is a lie of the highest order.  Again, you had hoped to over run Lebanon and so push on to Syria, but a handful of audacious fighters have spoiled your plans and now you try to save face by declaring victory.

Hezbollah had not foreseen the massive cowardly bombing campaign that Israel unleashed and if Hezbollah had had air defense systems in place to keep the bomb-dropping American-made airplanes out of the Lebanese sky, you would have had a total defeat. Now Hezbollah has the time to acquire those air defense weapons, and a next attack by Israel will be impossible. Unless you change your idea that force can bring peace, you will find the "entire" world against you.

Please start thinking love, think sharing, and think togetherness instead of separation and dominance and greed for the energy reserves in the countries of the Arabian people in the Middle East.

How much easier is it to catch a fly with honey than with vinegar?
