I neither approved nor disapproved the Zionist movement

Saturday, August 19, 2006

In answer to Susan Campbell's comments that I equated objections to Zionism to anti-Jewish sentiments, I must say her conclusion is incorrect.

I simply stated when Zionist movement was established.  I do not equate the dislike of that movement with one's being anti-Jewish.  I objected to Mr Baldal's continual criticism of Israel's to protect itself  and considered that an anti-Jewish expression.  I was neither approving nor disapproving the Zionist movement.  I simply stated a fact.

As for her comment that "the US is sick with Christian-Zionists able to excuse anything so long as it leads to the 'Last Days', etc.", I can only conclude she is like many Americans today.  She obviously feels all Americans have the right to do as they please with the exception of Christians or Zionists.   This is a common trend in the US today.  All religions are accepted without criticisms or restrictions except Christians.

Most people in the US  ignore the fact that our country was founded by Christians and that our Founding Fathers based the Constitution and all they did in establishing our country on Christian teachings.  I, as a US citizen, am sick of those with her attitude, those who feel they have rights granted by our Constitution  but think fellow citizens who are Christians should  not have that same right.

All citizens of any country should have equal rights and I resent it when one person thinks she has more rights than another.  It is her privilege under our Constitution to have freedom of speech, but so is it my right.

In conclusion, I must state Mr Baldal also has the same right to express his thoughts freely.  I disagree with him, but I feel he has as much right as anyone else to speak out.

Thank you for allowing me this space.
