"The Honourable Prime Minister took the opportunity to explain in detail to the Honourable Premier, the proposed Electoral Reform, which the Government is about to embark upon,” a statement issued Wednesday from the Office of the Prime Minister said.

According to the statement, Prime Minister Douglas assured Premier Parry that the process calls for re-registration without disenfranchising any voter. Premier Parry was also updated on the Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME) and a number of ongoing development projects within the two islands.

Premier Parry used the opportunity to seek clarification on a number of matters and expressed his great desire for the Federation to pursue Constitutional Reform. He stated that he campaigned on a platform of people’s involvement and so expressed great interest in the various training programmes for young people.

The Prime Minister shared with him the availability of scholarships to Cuba, Mexico and the Republic of China on Taiwan.

Both leaders promised to meet again in the near future to continue the dialogue. Premier Parry presented to Prime Minister Douglas, two copies of Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) Manifesto entitled “the People’s Agenda”.
