ST GEORGE'S, Grenada: For the third year, the elegant and upscale 64-room Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada has won the coveted AAA Four Diamond Award®.  Spice’s AAA Four Diamond Award® rating will appear in the AAA 2007 Caribbean TourBook™ guide.  Less than three percent of the more than 32,000 properties approved by AAA achieve this rating.

“Obtaining this distinction once again is an excellent reward for the tremendous work we put into creating our superior product and a testament to the talented, dedicated staff we have delivering such high levels of satisfaction,” said Sir Royston Hopkin, KCMG, owner and chairman of Spice Island Beach Resort.  “Maintaining such an exclusive rating places Spice in a special class of resort – the cream of the crop – and we’re extremely proud,” Hopkin commented.

Spice first received this AAA distinction for 2004 and then again in 2005.

The resort was closed for more than a year following Hurricane Ivan (September 2004 – December 2005) and after re-opening following a $12 million renovation and refurbishment project, the property reclaimed its position as one of the most elite and exceptional properties in the Caribbean – and the AAA Four Diamond Award® for 2007 is an acknowledgment of Spice’s ultra-luxurious accommodations, fine amenities and world-class levels of service.
