Construction of the new Business Centre has already begun and the new building is located close to the Bank’s Regional Head Office at Warrens, Barbados. The new facility will be a modern workspace that will be purpose-built for the needs of the Bank’s employees. The new building will provide 50,000 sq feet of office space on a “Greenfield” site.
The new Business Centre also provides a solution to the demands for improved workspace as the Bank continues to exemplify its mandate of “First for Employees”. The new facility will be bright, open plan and, as a major improvement over current sites, provide adequate parking for its employees. The proximity to Head Office will also be a bonus allowing for easier interaction with the Head Office team.
Commenting on the new Business Centre, CEO Charles Pink said, “This is another exciting development for FirstCaribbean. This US$9M investment endorses our commitment to Barbados as a location for pan-Caribbean operations and also clearly demonstrates our commitment to our employees – we again have listened to their needs and acted. Being “First for Employees” remains our twin priority with “First for Customers”.
It is envisaged that the building will be ready for occupancy by late 2007.
