The anti-whaling view is not the only one on earth
Wednesday, June 21, 2006
According to the letter from Matt Settlemire dated 20 June, the response to some of the Carribean countries' decision to vote in favour of commercial whaling at the IWC conference by the anti-whaling nations and pressure groups is to boycott tourism in these countries. Although I do not believe the Japanese government has actually done so, many anti-whaling countries have voiced suspicion that Japan was "buying" these votes. There has been no proof of such activity on the Japanese side. In return, what they are trying to do is simple intimidation, and the evidence is abundant! When will these anti-whaling people learn that their view is not the only one on earth? How long will it take for them to stop insulting other cultures? Ryo Takagi
