French train maker wins contract for Santo Domingo subway

PARIS, France (Bloomberg): Alstom SA, the world's second-biggest train maker, won an order worth 92.5 million euros ($118.6 million) to supply 19 train sets for the first subway line in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The first deliveries of the train sets, consisting of three cars each, with the first deliveries scheduled by the opening of the line in early 2008, the Paris-based company said today in a faxed statement.
