Visa-free entry for Dominicans to French departments gets closer

Thursday, May 25, 2006

ROSEAU, Dominica: Dominica’s Attorney General and Minister for Legal Affairs and Immigration, Ian Douglas, leads a delegation to Guadeloupe on Thursday on a mission to put in place the administrative mechanisms that would give full effect to the implementation of visa-free entry for stays of fifteen days or less for Dominicans into the French Departments of the Americas.

On March 19, 2006, an Agreement to facilitate the movement of Dominican nationals to the French Departments of the Americas was signed between the Governments of Dominica and the Government of the French Republic in Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe.

During their two-day visit to Guadeloupe, the Dominican delegation in collaboration with the French authorities will put in place the protocols to give practical effect to the implementation of the agreement. The signing of the protocols will take place on Friday, May 26, 2006.
