A few suggestions for when Benny Hinn visits Trinidad

Friday, May 19, 2006

Dear Sir:

Controversial faith-healer, Benny Hinn, is scheduled to conduct his "International Crusade" in Trinidad at the Queens Park Savannah on May 19-21, 2006. Since Benny Hinn's "miracle" crusades devote time to "healing" the sick and diseased, here are a few suggestions you may want to consider:

  • Ask the crusade coordinator for permission to photograph and video-tape before and during the "healing" service of the crusade.
  • Note how many people are brought on stage to claim their "healing," and what sickness and diseases they claim to be healed of. When they leave the stage, ask them if they would be willing to participate in a follow-up for a future article in your newspaper.
  • Note how many people claim to be "healed" of all-forms of diseases and ailments, and disorders (such as AIDS, cancer, arthritis, leg and back problems, diabetes, etc.), but leave the stage still wearing their eyeglasses.
  • Note how many people are confined to wheelchairs, and how many leave the crusade, unhealed, still confined to their wheelchairs (such as those who suffer from Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis and Spina Bifida).
  • Benny Hinn claims to have the "anointed" healing power of God. Before he leaves Trinidad, request an interview with him, and ask him if he is willing to pay a special visit to the hospitals, go room-to-room, and take his "anointed" healing power to the sick and dying.
  • A few weeks or a month after the crusade, conduct a follow-up with those who claimed their "healing." Were they really healed? Did they stop taking their medicine or medical therapy? Did they do a follow-up with their doctors? Are they willing to provide "proof" of their healing? Of those who claimed to be healed, has anyone died?

While the above suggestions may seem inappropriate for someone of Benny Hinn's popularity, he needs to be held accountable for his actions.

No one is above scrutiny.

Sincerely in Christ,
Bud Press, Director
